NIKIN from Aarau in the canton of Aargau has a stated target of producing all products in a circular manner by 2030. As part of this mission, the company is now expanding its collaboration with Säntis Textiles AG, which was first launched in 2025. The company, based in Bühler in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, has developed a technology that allows cotton to be 100 percent recycled for re-use “in a quality that opens up new possibilities for the textile industry”, as detailed in a statement.

NIKIN had already developed products made from RCO100 recycled cotton as part of the companies’ link-up in spring 2025. Now, an entire collection – the ReCotton collection – is being launched, which consists of a jacket, t-shirt, chinos and shorts. The new TreeJacket Denim ReCotton is the favorite piece from the current collection of Annabelle Hutter, Managing Director of Säntis Textiles.

The newly expanded collaboration is set to be continued across individual products. Behind this is the “conviction that the transformation of the textile industry will only succeed through collaboration”, as the company writes in the statement. “Our aim is to design all products as circular items by 2030. This requires partners that call existing systems into question and seek to develop new, innovation solutions”, comments Robin Gnehm, CPO and co-founder NIKIN, adding that: “For us, Säntis Textiles is certainly one of the most innovative companies in this area”. ce/jh
