MOVER SPORTSWEAR AG has announced a new address in Zurich. After 20 years in Lausanne, the plastic-free sportswear manufacturer has moved its headquarters to Mühlebachstrasse 12 in Zurich’s District 8.
A pop-up store on Zurich’s Füsslistrasse during last year’s holiday season proved to be the deciding factor, according to a blog post from the company, which was founded by Nicolas Rochat. “We sold through nearly half of our stock at full price and met hundreds of people who had never come across MOVER before,” writes MOVER. “This was a strong signal for us.” Furthermore, many of the company’s customers, retail partners, and media contacts are already based in Zurich. “Moving here brings us closer to the people we make clothes for, allows us to strengthen our community, and gives us a stronger base for the years ahead,” it explains of the decision.
MOVER also shared that Mădălina Preda joined the company as CEO on 1 October 2026. The company describes her appointment as a “crucial step for the brand’s expansion and its deepened commitment to the research and development of innovative plastic-free sportswear.”
Preda brings two decades of experience in environmental campaigns and in corporate and brand sustainability, including roles at Greenpeace International in Amsterdam, Patagonia in California, and most recently as Chief Sustainability Officer at North Technology Group. "We should be clear-eyed: the world does not need more clothing,” she is quoted as saying. “If we're going to make it, it has to be clothing that can return to the earth without leaving plastic or harmful chemicals behind.”
Rochat says that “handing over your baby is never easy for a founder. But Mădălina's track record, entrepreneurial drive and strong values make me confident that MOVER is in very good hands for its next chapter.” He himself plans to devote more time to developing new collections and ideas, as well as the long-term direction of the brand. ce/mm
