The Swiss Power-to-X Collaborative Innovation Network (SPIN) has announced that LAEMMLE Chemicals AG has joined as a new member of the organization. The chemicals specialist from Madetswil in the Swiss canton of Zurich develops, produces and distributes engine oils, hydraulic oils, industrial and specialty lubricants, as well as cleaning and other chemical-technical products.

According to a statement, LAEMMLE is guided by its philosophy of “Chemistry with responsibility” across all production processes and steps. By using sustainable geothermal energy for production and shipping, developing products based on circular raw materials, and reusing drums, the chemical specialist is able to cut its carbon emissions. All products are formulated and manufactured in Switzerland.

With this sustainable approach, LAEMMLE shares the vision of SPIN, which unites stakeholders along the entire Power-to-X value chain with the mission of strengthening Switzerland’s reputation as an innovation hub for molecular energy storage. At present, the network is dominated by members that operate in sectors such as hydrogen, e-fuels and synthetic gases.

The addition of LAEMMLE allows SPIN to enhance its expertise by leveraging practical experience in the production of chemical-technical products in Switzerland as well as familiarity with circular raw materials. Moreover, LAEMMLE can offer access to mobility and industry segments that will be relevant for the scale-up of synthetic and bio-based raw materials moving forward. ce/ja
